Hello, my name is Sophie Costan. I grew up in Clarion, Pennsylvania, and I went to school at Chatham University in Pittsburgh where I majored in Cell and Molecular Biology as well as Psychology. After college, I spent a year working at a nonprofit human milk bank in Pittsburgh, where we were able to help sick babies in local NICUs. Following that, I went to medical school at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in Scranton, PA. My interests in medicine include LGBTQ+ health/gender affirming care, women’s health, ultrasound procedures, and palliative care. Outside of medicine, I love reading, watching scary movies with my partner, and teaching myself to play the banjo. I also have a Tortoiseshell cat and Pomeranian at home, and they keep me super busy!
